Rev. Fr. Govindu Rayanna is a Catholic priest of the diocese of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Since his ordination he has been active in various activities of the diocese as a Parochial Vicer, Parish Priest, Coordinator of Pastoral Renewal Programmes and Director of Pastoral Training Centre.

  He obtained his master’s degree in Biblical Theology from St. Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bengaluru, and doctorate from the Pontifical Urbanian University, Rome. He served as resident professor of sacred scripture at St. John’s Regional Major Seminary, Hyderabad. He is a recognized teacher of Sacred Scripture in various seminaries and institutes of theology in India and abroad. He has authored six books, several article, audio and video-cassette programmes in spirituality and theology.

    Since 2009 he has been the Executive Secretary of the Bible Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India. He is also currently, the Coordinator of the Catholic Biblical Federation – South Asia sub-region as well as a Member of the Global Bible Translation Research and Development Team of Catholic Biblical Federation- United Bible Societies.

    Presently he is the Secretary & Correspondent of Universal College of Engineering and Technology, Dokiparru, Perecherla, Guntur. A.P.

 

Fathima Marreddy Malapati is a Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Guntur, A.P.India.

He hails from a traditional & large Catholic village called Rentachintala, Palnadu area of Guntur District. Responding to God's call to Priesthood after completing the high school education he joined the Seminary in the year 1985. After successfully completing philosophy and theology, he was ordained priest to serve in the vineyard of the Lord in the year 1996. From the very beginning of his seminary days he has fervent devotion to Our Lady of Fathima, as he is also named after her.In the course of the time he worked in many different parish churches of the diocese. He holds Masters in Business Administration. He also worked as Correspondent of  St.Johns English Medium School,Karempudi for three years and as Correspondent of Little Flower English Medium School,ICSE, Guntur as many as nine years. From the year 2004 to 2013, he was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Diocese of Guntur Society and was also Chancellor of the Diocese in the same period. And during the same period he played a key role in the establishment of Victoria College of Pharmacy at Nallapadu, of which he was Secretary & Correspondent and also played a major role in the establishment of Universal College of Engineering & Technology from 2006 -2008. He was also the person behind acquiring the land, construction of both the colleges and also obtained the necessary permissions from AICTE and JNTUK.

Having the experience of working as the Administrator and Financial Manager of the whole diocese of Guntur and being correspondent of Schools and college, he has vast knowledge in the fields of administration and education. He has inborn great talent for Music, which resulted in several audio cassettes of religious melodies and compiled a few religious books and hymnals too.

At present he is working as Administrator and Treasurer of the Universal College of Engineering & Technology, which saw its beginnings and took shape through him. He had an ardent desire to be part of this prestigious college, which has now become a reality.
